"Modern Conduit Mares"

                                              (2008 VERSION  NOW AVAILABLE)

Aptitudinal designations for 720 conduit mares and listings for 1749 stallions (past and present) with their respective conduit mares and family number.

The concept of "Modern Conduit Mares" was created to assist in evaluating the female influences within a pedigree by examining the aptitudinal characteristics passed forward through  individuals found tail female in the family record. The material, in a concise workbook format, is comprised of some historical data, breeding theory, and references to genetic studies regarding traits that may be passed through the female, particularly via mtDNA.

A tutorial is included on how to create and apply the "Modern Conduit Mare" profiles and index. The profiles do not reflect the dosage contributions of "chef-de-race" sires, but offer aptitudinal ranges, based on significant data, that are passed through the female families of thoroughbred racehorses. There are sample pedigrees, worksheet demonstrations, and databases for reference.

As the author states, "I have enjoyed putting this work together, and the resulting profiles continue to amaze me in their high percentage of accurate aptitudinal portrayals. Even if the index itself is not used, there are extensive lists of data that can be applied in other ways. Personally, I have had success using the profiles as a handicapping tool for spot bets in addition to pedigree research and breeding analysis".
